My beautiful homeisland is invaded by brats from Stockholm every summer during what is now called Stockholmsveckan, the Stockholm week. The goal for these brats from the Swedish capital is to show-off their wealth amongst eachother and to everyone else. Last year they wasted money buying expensive champagne in the Visby restaurants and showering each other with the bubbly. Obviously the brats enjoyed this so much that thry had to do it all the time and it became an annoyance tourists and locals. After many complaints the Gotland authorities put a ban on the bubbly showers. The brats then came up with two new ways of enjoying themselves the only ways these extremely limited and uneducated group of people know, wasting money.  The number one obviously to themselves hilarious activity is to order two bottles of champagne and ask the waiter to serve one and pour the other out in the sink. The number two "cool" thing to do is, as reported by some hamburger chains in Visby, to order 50 hamburgers, eat one and throw the other 49 hamburgers in the trash.

Julian Assange, self promotor or hero

US Army intelligence has leaked almost 100 000 secret documents, recording events in the Afghanistan war from 2004 to 2009. The leak threats US foreign policy as well as US and NATO troops on the field in Afghanistan according to the US government.

The documents were made available to the public by Wikileaks.org. The documents that were leaked from the gigantic US intelligence apparatus are classified as secret, obviously they were not intended to be distributed all over the globe and dissected by three national newspapers from Germany (Der Spiegel), the UK (The Guardian) and the US (The New York Times).

The reports in the thousands of documents are authentic, but do not always reveal the truth, merely raw field reports.  The reports confirm the already known cooperation between the Pakistan secret service and the Talibans that result in the killings of US troops, the fact that the US is hiding the real number of civilian deaths and injuries is also a normal war strategy and no news.

The publication of these reports as the top news all over the world put the US in the same situation as BP, a dirty mess is surfacing and now every step in the PR and image work will be very important for Obama. Let us hope that he does not make the same mistakes as BP’s Svanberg did. Let us hope for transparency instead of falsification.

The USA has as a goal that 55% of  the 25- to 34-year olds shall have an associates degree or higher by 2025. According to the latest OECD-report, USA is ranked number 12 among 36 countries with 40.4% of the age group of 25-34 having an associates degree or higher. After USA follow Denmark ranked 13, Sweden ranked 14 and Finland ranked 15. Norway is far ahead its Scandinavian neighbours with a 7th place. It is interesting to notice that the USA and Sweden have almost the same percentage of people with a higher education

The PR- money from BP has run out and hotel owners and others complain that we need more funds to market the Florida beaches as clean from oil. It has been reported a 10% loss of hotel reservations along the Florida's west coast due to the fear that oil will eventually hit the Florida Gulf Coast.  There are other health hazards on Florida beaches though such as sharks, jellyfish, stingrays, sunburns, sea lice, red tide, rip currents. lightning and water quality. Education is the best defence against harm from the Florida Beach Hazards!
